Rose Polenzani > I might be wrong, but I think this is my first ever solo on a stringed instrument - I took the first half of the solo section on the bari uke - and this is my victory snapshot. Photo by Pete Weiss.

Rose Polenzani > These photos are from Brian Webb's recording session at Verdant studios in Vermont. Pete Weiss (engineer/studio owner) took these totally lovely pictures - he has more at www.nerker.com. This song was a bit of a surprise at the end of the day: we were recording "Bird on a Wire" by Leonard Cohen, and it was spontaneous, lovely, and live. We thought at first it would be just Brian on guitar, but I for some reason wanted to play my baritone ukulele - and it became a loose, sparse arrangement with Austin Nevins on banjo and Jeremy Curtis on double bass. It playful and dire all at once.
Rose Polenzani > Brian is amazing. We pretty much locked eyes the whole time, I can't believe I can withstand such a thing, but it seemed important during the performance. Photo by Pete Weiss.

Rose Polenzani > This guy was awesome. We were told that a man named Santa Claus would be pouring local beer (Mountaineer Brewing Co.) at the reception, and there he was! What a sweetheart! His wife took this photo, she was really frustrated by the iphone camera - it is so slow! the shutter speed is unfathomable.
